Solid Waste Management

There will be NO curbside collection on Independence Day, July 4th, 2024. 

We are not making up the collection for this missed day. Your garbage will be collected on your next regularly scheduled pick-up day. For example, if you are a Monday /Thursday collection your garbage will not be collected on July 4th and your next collection will be Monday July, 8th. If you are a Tuesday/Friday collection, there will be no interruption to your service. 

Customer Service will be closed on the 4th of July and will resume normal business on July 5th, 2024.

The Central Transfer Station and the Seminole County Landfill will be OPEN on July 4th. The Household Hazardous waste tunnel will be closed. 

Holiday Schedule

If your scheduled garbage, yard waste or recycling collection day falls on a holiday listed below, your collection will be on the next regularly scheduled collection day.

  • New Year's Day
  • Independence Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Unincorporated Seminole County residents participate in a tax/assessment district, Solid Waste Collection & Disposal Municipal Services Benefit Unit (MSBU), that provides funding for the management of residential solid waste.
