Education and Outreach
Seminole County’s Solid Waste Management Division is available for education and outreach events to encourage the community to “Keep Seminole County Beautiful.” Residents may request an appearance or education booth at an event, take a facility tour, or hear a presentation. Outreach is available for classrooms, scout groups, community organizations, neighborhood associations, and more.
Events
The Solid Waste Management Division is available to set up educational tables and displays at community events. Examples include cleanups, environmental events, and “Touch-a-Truck” events. “BART”, the Big Awesome Recycling Trailer is available to haul recyclables away from community cleanup events. Facility Tours
Central Transfer Station
- Groups of up to 30 guests may request a presentation and tour of the Central Transfer Station facility. Guests must be ages 10 and up and able to walk up and down stairs.
Seminole County Landfill
- Groups of up to 15 guests may request a presentation and tour of both the Central Transfer Station and the Seminole County Landfill. Guests must be ages 10 and up and able to walk up and down stairs. Requests for tours of both facilities must be made at least 60 days in advance.

Presentations
Virtual or in-person presentations are available for school groups, homeowners associations, and more. Topics include pollution control, recycling, and the Solid Waste Management Division’s work. Presentations will be tailored to suit your group’s needs.
