Are all of the dogs required to be spayed or neutered?
In accordance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 823.15, all dogs and cats adopted through a public shelter or rescue organization must be sterilized.

1.    What if the pet I adopt isn't already spayed or neutered?
The pet, within a couple of days after the adoption paperwork has been completed, will be transported by us to the County's contracted veterinarian in Seminole County for sterilization surgery and you will pick up your pet from there. Currently, Animal Services uses a clinic in Longwood. Please bring all Seminole County adoption paperwork with you when you pick up your animal.

2.    What if the pet I want to adopt is already spayed or neutered?
Normally, you can take the pet home the same day.
