Lake Management Services MSBU
Lake Minnie : Lake Minnie, a 41-acre waterbody, is situated within the Lake Jesup watershed in District Four. This lake is located in the Northwest quadrant of unincorporated Seminole County. Over time, the lake’s natural ecosystem has deteriorated due to the invasion of non-native plant species. Species of concern include water hyacinth among other invasive species. The application sought assistance in securing ongoing lake management public services by establishing a Municipal Services Benefit Unit (MSBU) assessment district. This district would be responsible for funding these essential services. The need for these public services is currently being evaluated by Seminole County Lake Management Program.

West Crystal Lake :West Crystal Lake, a 130-acre waterbody, is situated within the Lake Monroe watershed in District Four. This lake is located in the Northwest quadrant of unincorporated Seminole County. Concerns for submerged and floating vegetation impeding the open water areas. The application sought assistance in securing ongoing lake management public services by establishing a Municipal Services Benefit Unit (MSBU) assessment district. This district would be responsible for funding these essential services. The need for these public services is currently being evaluated by Seminole County Lake Management Program.

Lake Markham : Lake Markham, a 71 acre lake is located within the Yankee Lake Watershed in District Five. This lake is located in the Northwest quadrant of unincorporated Seminole County. The application sought assistance in securing ongoing lake management public services by establishing a Municipal Services Benefit Unit (MSBU) assessment district. This district would be responsible for funding these essential services. The Seminole County Lake Management Program found several invasive species including but not limited to; water hyacinth, primrose willow, torpedo grass and para-grass. These species should be managed to insure navigation and recreational activities are not disturbed.
