Library Card FAQs
Yes, library cards expire after three years. You may renew your card privileges by visiting your local branch and providing valid photo ID and proof of Seminole County residency.
You can change your PIN in person at any library location. You will need to bring a photo ID for PIN requests made in person.

You can renew your materials online on the "My Account" link which can be found when you enter the library catalog. Materials currently charged on your account will be renewed for three weeks from the date the renewal is made.
The general check-out period is 3 weeks for regular items, with the option of three renewals. High demand items are checked out for 2 weeks and cannot be renewed. DVDs are checked out for 1 week and can be renewed one time for an additional week.
You may borrow up to a total of 50 items at one time, including a limit of 10 DVDs. For example, if you check out 10 DVDs then you can check out 40 more books / audiobooks.
Overdue fines are $0.20 per day per item. Up to $10.00 Maximum per item.
Library cards are free of charge if you reside or own property in Seminole County.
Non-resident fee cards: $50.00 per family, per year.

1. When you enter your library card number make sure you enter all 14 digits on the back of your card with no spaces.
2. Enter your PIN (usually the last 4 digits of your phone number).
Library cards expire so that we have the opportunity to review your record to make sure all contact information is correct and that the account is in good standing. To continue services without interruption visit any Seminole County library location to review your account with our staff. Please bring your valid Florida driver's license or state ID with your correct address.
The library only accepts payments in cash, check, or money order.
Charges for damaged material will be based on the amount of damage. Charges for lost material will be the replacement value of the item plus a non-refundable processing fee of $10.00.
If you lose your PIN, you can retrieve it at any library location with your library card and ID. A staff member can look it up and/or reset it for you. You can also use the "Reset PIN Link" on the top right corner of the library catalog screen. You will be asked for your library card number. The system will then send a message to the email address we have on record for you with a link to change your pin.
You are responsible for all items checked out and all fines and fees charged to your account up until the day you report to the library that the card has been lost or stolen. Staff can issue a new replacement card the next time you visit the library.
A PIN (Personal Identification Number ) is a 4 digit code that must be used when logging into your library account. It is usually the last 4 digits of you phone number.
A valid library card is a card that has less than $10.00 in fines or fees.
Your library card allows you to borrow books, audiobooks, e-books, e-audiobooks,DVDs, and magazines. Your library card also provides access to our premium databases online.
You can return your materials to any Seminole County Public Library location. All locations have book drops outside for your convenience.
If your card is blocked, you may have more than $5.00 in fines. You can call any library location for account information. You will be asked for your library card number. Once you reduce your fines to $5.00 or less in person, the block will be removed.
