Kristian Swenson is an Assistant County Manager for Seminole County responsible for providing executive oversight of operational departments, including Environmental Services, Leisure Services, and Public Works. These three departments account for nearly half of Seminole County’s total 1,500 employees. Some of the County’s largest customer service divisions are included in these departments, including Utilities Operations, Solid Waste, Library Services, Parks and Recreation, and Roads and Stormwater.

Kristian joined Seminole County in May 2023. He has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of construction, building maintenance, and repairs with an emphasis on commercial and institutional work for both the public and private sectors. Kristian served the Lake County Board of County Commissioners from 2003-2015 specializing in Road Operations, Facilities Management, and executive oversight of operational departments. More recently, from 2015-2023, Kristian led the facilities management team for Seminole County Public Schools.

Kristian’s construction management experience is second to none. He has served as an owner’s representative overseeing institutional building and civil construction projects of all sizes. Among his professional accomplishments, Kristian has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree from the University of West Florida. He also holds licensure as a State of Florida General Contractor as well as a Qualified Stormwater Management Inspector.
