The Seminole County Planning & Development Division held a Community Meeting on 10/19/2021 seeking your input on potential revisions to the Land Development Code. This ongoing effort is directed at clarifying and modernizing the Code, bringing it more in line with the future needs of Seminole County.
On August 5, 2021 Seminole County in collaboration with Renaissance Planning and the City of Sanford held the last of three community workshops, where the public had an opportunity to comment on the draft recommendations for the study.
The portion of Seminole County east of Sanford and Oviedo has been designated as the East Rural Area, where homes are relatively far apart and a "country" atmosphere has been preserved. Seminole County's Comprehensive Plan includes policies that call for protection of this rural character through development requirements for a variety of items including landscaping, fences, signs, and building design.
