Frequently Asked Questions

Changing your address could result in a delay in the online mapping process, as our office provides updated address and street information to Google Maps, ESRI Maps, and HERE Maps on a consistent basis. The online mapping systems utilized by delivery services or other vendors are beyond our control, and we cannot determine or guarantee the schedule for their data updates.

For the Cities of Lake Mary and Longwood, please provide the Addressing Staff with the property identification number, building permit number for the proposed structure and a site plan of the property showing the building footprint, and pay the new address fee. For unincorporated county, Addressing is a reviewer for all new construction permits and addresses are assigned in conjunction with a building permit. Addresses are released once a permit is issued.

Depending upon if it is residential or commercial, Seminole County Addressing Staff will notify the Post Office, Sheriff's Department, E911 Administration, Fire Department, Utilities- Water, Power, Phone, County Solid Waste Office, Supervisor of Elections Office, School Board, Teleatlas, Owner and/or Developer.

Street designations are defined in the addressing Ordinance 2019-47 in Section 90.2 and must fit the criteria outlined therein.

There are a number of reasons your property may require re-addressing. The street name may have changed, your address number may be out of sequence with the established grid, you may be an odd number on the even side of the street or the driveway to access your property has changed.
