Meteorology is deeply intertwined with the emergency management community. Emergency managers regularly monitor and track weather phenomena. These events can be the cause of many disastrous events including lightning, high winds, drought, tornadoes and hurricanes. Weather can also affect the way assistance is provided during or after an emergency.
