Water Savers
WATER SAVER AWARDS!
Who do you know that is a Great Water Steward of our water? Is it your neighbor? Is it the business down the street, Is it your child's school? Is it YOU? Water is a non-renewable resource that is depleting at a fast rate due to various reasons and over use. This program is to encourage our citizens to use water more efficiently and help protect our natural resource to ensure a more sustainable future for water resources.The Water Saver Award recognizes those businesses or individuals who use water wisely and uses water reducing practices that result in lowering your water bill in your home, business, school groups, professional groups, or an entire community. (i.e. lowering your water bill by half, establishing water wise landscaping that could include drip irrigation, native plants, removing turf. Replacing high flow water devices in your home to reduce your bill -i.e. low flow toilets, low flow showerheads,or high efficient washing machines.
WHO can participate - Must be a customer of Seminole County water and sewer utility.
WHEN - All nominations shall be received by September 30th annually.
WHY - Water Conservation is a great way to save money and expand community involvement in effecient water conservation practices.
Suggestions: Rain barrel catchment system, Water wise gardens, Turf replacement, Retro-fit all older water devices with new low flow devices.Drip irrigation system, Florida Native Plants, water conservation educational event.
