When preparing for emergency situations, it's best to think first about the basics of survival: fresh water, food, clean air and warmth. Encourage all employees to have a portable kit customized to meet personal needs, such as essential medications.

First-Aid Kit

During disasters we're more prone to injuries. All businesses should have a first-aid kit available for all types of emergencies. Consider purchasing an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

  • Sterile adhesive bandages in assorted sizes
  • Assorted sizes of safety pins
  • Soap and cleansing agent
  • Several pairs of latex gloves
  • Sunscreen
  • 2-inch and 4-inch sterile gauze pads (4-6 of each)
