Kate has more than 20 years of local government law, representing multiple Central Florida municipalities and, most recently, Orange County. She has extensive experience representing elected and appointed public officials and has been Board Certified by the Florida Bar in City, County & Local Government Law since 2008. 
 
Kate has served in the Orange County Attorney’s Office since 2014. She most recently supervises the legal work of attorneys and paralegals in the County’s general/administrative law section, handling a variety of legal matters, including Real Estate Management, Parks and Recreation, Capital Projects, Procurement, Corrections, Youth and Family Services, Fiscal and Business Services, Office of Management and Budget, Communications, Economic Development, Public Works, and Utilities. She has advised elected and appointed local officers and city staff on a wide range of legal matters, including land use, employment law, permitting and development, general liability, annexation, code enforcement, public utilities, procurement, the Government in the Sunshine Law, Florida Public Records Act, and ethics.  
 
Kate holds a Juris Doctor and Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University and is a lifelong resident of Seminole County.
