In an effort to address the pandemic’s impact on affordable housing, Seminole County Community Services Department has issued a $2,000,000.00 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) with the intent to partner with qualified for profit and non-profit developers/contractors with an organizational mission to develop affordable housing, and scalable “shovel-ready” projects, to develop homeownership units for first-time homebuyers. Applicant must have site control (own, or under purchase contract) of a parcel(s) suitable for development, architectural drawings inclusive of exterior elevations and floor plans, a project pro forma complete with all hard and soft costs, and a construction timeline showing completion and sale of all units prior to December 31, 2026. $2 million of the American Recovery Plan funds have been allocated to fully fund approved homeownership development projects.
A virtual technical assistance information session will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 10 a.m. to provide interested applicants an opportunity to gain additional information and ask questions regarding NOFA. To be considered for funding, all interested applicants must have a representative present at of the workshop.
Funding applications are available at the website www.seminolecountyfl.gov/departments-services/community-services/ or can be picked up in person Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm from the Community Services office. One (1) original, one (1) duplicated paper application, and one (1) electronic copy (PDF Format) saved on a USB flash drive is required. Applications are due to Seminole County Community Development Division no later than Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 12:00 pm.
