Steps to Remember!

Conduct the appropriate research on your industry, target market, and competition.
 
Develop a business plan.
 
Determine your company’s legal structure.
 
Choose and register your business name.
 
Check State licensing requirements through the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. 
 
Obtain a Seminole County Business Tax Receipt  through the Tax Collector's Office.   Required for anyone doing business in Seminole County. 
 
If your business is located within city limits, contact the city government to obtain any necessary business tax receipts and/or permits.
 
Verify any operating restrictions that your business location may have (e.g. local HOA covenants and restrictions and/or county/city zoning laws).
 
If necessary, acquire a Federal Employer Identification Number.
 
If you have, or plan to have, employees, review State and Federal labor regulations.
 
Explore  financing options for your business.
 
Meet with an accountant, attorney, and insurance agent  to ensure the success of your enterprise.
 
Get involved with the local business community by joining networking organizations and/or Chambers of Commerce.
