Permits
PROCEDURE
FOR BLOCK PARTIES, FOOT/BIKE RACES, PARADES
AND OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS
Permit
Fee (non-refundable): $30.00 (payable to
Seminole County BCC)
All permit applications must be received two (2) weeks
prior to event.
1. Request for an application package can be made by phone at 407-665-5678.
(The application is not currently available online) Need the date, time, location
and a general map of the area. Requires the name, phone number, address of
applicant where the permit can be mailed.
2.
If the applicant is a homeowners association
which is sponsoring the event, the president
of HOA shall sign the permit. If the applicant
is a corporation, an authorized officer of
the company must sign for the corporation.
3.
Complete top portion of permit and enclose
a certificate of insurance naming Seminole
County Board of County Commissioners (BCC)
as the additional insured as well as the
event.
4.
If the applicant is an individual and wishes
that the insurance requirements be waived
it needs to be identified in Section II of
the Permit Application. It must be noted
that the waiver will require the Traffic
Engineers' or BCC Approval.
5.
Once permit is received, a copy of the package
(permit, map, letter etc.) will be sent to
Public Safety,
the Sheriff’s Office District in which the event is being held, as well as the Risk Management Office for their concurrence/acknowledgement.
6.
Upon approval by the Traffic Engineer, if
the applicant wishes to borrow any traffic
barricades/signage, they must sign the appropriate
documentation taking responsibility for safe
keeping and return in good condition of the
material.
7.
If BCC Approval is required, the complete
information package will be placed on BCC
Agenda for approval. Please note that if
BCC approval is required, two
(2) months notice would be required to process the permit.
8.
A copy of the approved permit will be sent
to the applicant upon approval by BCC.
PROCEDURE
FOR HOUSE MOVES

1.
House move permit must be filed with the
Traffic Engineer prior to any move.

2.
Require a permit application with all appropriate
height and weight information and the map
of route involved.
3.
Move must take place between 11:30 p.m. and
5:30 a.m. unless otherwise specified in writing
by the Traffic
Engineer.
4.
Contractor shall acquire the service of adequate
number of law enforcement officers for traffic
control and
safety.
5.
If trees are to be trimmed within the public
right-of-way, a right-of-way utilization
permit must be obtained either from the City
or County Engineer in addition to the permit
for the move.
6.
If removal or displacement of traffic signals
or signs is necessary, in addition to the
non-refundable permit fee, an hourly crew
charge will be assessed to the applicant
to be payable to
the Seminole County BCC.
