Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

CHILD SAFETY SEAT
The Question:
4. If the safety belt does not fit my child correctly should the shoulder belt be placed under the child's arm for a better fit?

The Answer:

Never put the shoulder belt under a child's arm or behind their back, as this increases the risk of severe internal injuries in a crash. Use a belt positioning booster seat to correctly position the lap and shoulder belts for children once they outgrow forward facing child safety seats (check the labels on the restraint for weight and height limits or your CR owner’s manual).  Children who have outgrown their forward facing CR should ride in a belt positioning booster seat until the adult safety belt fits them the way it fits you (approx. 80 lbs and 4’9”).
