Seminole County Cares About You, Your Issues, and Concerns!
BOARD ESTABLISHMENT
The Seminole
County Board of County Commissioners has a long-standing
commitment to providing quality services and facilities for all residents of
Seminole County including those residents with disabilities. In October 1998,
the Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution authorizing the creation
of the Seminole County Disability Advisory Council (DAC).
The purpose of the
DAC is to advise the
Board of County Commissioners regarding issues affecting disabled individuals.
Input to the DAC can include:

Observations of comments by the disabled community

Issues associated with accessing public services
-
Recommending funding needs for citizens with disabilities
-
Developing awareness of the abilities of citizens with disabilities
to seek employment and community volunteerism
VISION
To provide leadership and management through
the promotion of a positive social and work-related
environment, develop civic pride and awareness
affecting citizens with disabilities, and involvement
and participation in achieving diversity within
the community for persons with special needs.
DAC MEMBERS
MEETINGS
The Disability Advisory Council meets the 4th Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m. The meetings are open to the public. Contact Buddy Balagia at 407-665-2389 for meeting location.
