Lt. W. Butch Loudermilk
has been selected as the September 2017 SCFD Employee of the Month.
Lieutenant Loudermilk is the model Company Officer and employee. Whether it’s Administrative, Personnel or Operations he does an outstanding job. He always leads from the front and is an example for all employees to follow. With his nearly 25 years of service with the Seminole County Fire Department and the classes and education, I know I can always count on him.
This year he has had a lot on his plate and still finds ways of excelling everyday often taking care of Department issues off duty. During this year he has helped establish a Shift-wide SHOT Competency Training outline and schedule and help lead his crew on multiple large alarms such as extrication, hazmat, and structure fires, including a 50,000 sq. ft. warehouse fire that was 50% involved and he and his crew made an awesome stop saving half of the building and its contents.
Lieutenant Loudermilk has been with the Honor Guard for several years and is very involved with the Team being the liaison on several funerals and events. Recently he made a request to the Fire Chief to be the Honor Guard Commander. Chief Oakes gladly accepted, knowing his passion and experience with the Team. Chief Oakes recently named Lieutenant Loudermilk as the Seminole County Honor Guard Commander.
For these reasons Lieutenant Butch Loudermilk was selected as the Employee of the month.
