Seminole County Animal Services will be hosting the 14th annual Pet Adopt-a-thon on Saturday March 25th! All are welcome to attend this free event. Even if you already have a furry loved one, there are plenty of things to do!
The Adopt-a-thon will be held in front of the Seminole County Courthouse at 101 Eslinger Way right off of 17-92 in Sanford from 10 am to 3 pm. Not only can Seminole County residents find a new friend, they can also bring their current pet to receive free 1 year rabies vaccines provided by the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando and have their pet microchipped compliments of T.E.A.R.S. (Together Every Animal Receives Support). Pet owners who have their pet microchipped have greater chance of their animals being returned to them than those who do not. Seminole County Animal Services will be providing complimentary pet licenses to county residents with current rabies vaccines, as well as half price adoptions at the Animal Services shelter, which is only a short walking distance from the event.
The Big Red Bus will be on site all day for donations, residents and their pets can take pictures with the Easter Bunny, and watch animal agility demonstrations throughout the event. And don’t worry about snacks; there will be plenty of sweet treats available for county residents and their pets, including Doggie Ice Cream and baked goods.
Don’t forget about your furry family members during an emergency. The Seminole County Office of Emergency Management will be participating and providing free information to Seminole County residents on how to prepare their homes, families, and pets for any type of emergency.
