SEMINOLE COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY
Interlibrary Loan Policy
To obtain books or periodical articles not owned by the Library, the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program used by the Seminole County Library System may be of assistance. Customers who are 16 years of age or older may request materials through the Interlibrary Loan Service. Upon payment of a non refundable $2.00 fee per request, the Library will submit a request through a database of libraries within the United States.
- Your library account balance must be “zero” and the ILL fee payment must be made prior to submitting the request. Please note that if the Library is not able to obtain a copy of your requested material, the $2.00 search fee will not be refunded.
- This service is not available for borrowing media (DVDs, music CDs, or books on CD), for materials that have been in the national database for less than 3 months, or duplicates of titles already owned.
- Customers may have only five (5) Interlibrary Loan requests at any time.
- The $2.00 request fee is IN ADDITION to any service and shipping charges that the lending library may add. These additional charges will be passed along to you. We do not know ahead of time who the lending library will be or if they charge. We ask that you indicate in advance the maximum cost which you are willing to pay for service and shipping charges that a lender may require. If you indicate no maximum cost, we will not borrow materials from libraries if there is a charge.
- ILL requests are not accepted online or by phone. To submit an ILL request, please stop in any of the library locations.
