The Library continues to focus on reducing costs while causing the least impact on services. The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program has been utilized by a very small percentage of our users over the last year. In fact only 618 unique borrowers have accessed the program and have generated less than 1,412 requests for a 12 month period. This translates into a high cost per transaction since a minimum infrastructure for staff and other costs for technology must remain in place, no matter how many requests are made. Effective May 1, 2011, the Library will no longer accept new ILL requests.
