Wilderness Areas
Where
are the Wilderness Areas?
Seven wilderness areas and one preserve are
open to the public. Directions, maps, descriptions
and photos are available of each: Black Bear, Black Hammock, Geneva, Chuluota, Lake
Proctor, Econ River, Lake
Jesup, and Spring
Hammock Preserve. For more information
about them, please call (407) 349-0959.
What
activities are allowed on the Wilderness Areas?
Passive recreation is allowed on all Natural
Lands open to the public. Other access may
be allowed with a permit *.
- Hiking
- Biking
- Birding
- Fishing
- Photography
- Horse-back riding
- Special events at
the Ed Yarborough Nature Center *
- Camping at Geneva Wilderness Area on weekends by permit.
