GREENWAYS & NATURAL LANDS
Education
Seminole County
Natural Land sites can serve as wonderful
outdoor classrooms and provide a great opportunity
for first hand learning. Students can visit
these sites with natural lands staff and
participate in activities such as wildlife
inventory and vegetation mapping, and learn
about topics like bio-diverstity, conservation
management, and prescribed
burning. The Natural Lands staff can
also bring a little of the outdoors in to
your classroom and provide an interesting
and exciting hands-on learning experience.

Located
at the 180 acre Geneva
Wilderness Area,
the Ed Yarborough Nature Center is an air-conditioned
learning center that accommodates up to
40 students. A variety of exhibits and
educational materials introduce visitors
to the local ecology of Seminole County.
Some of these exhibits include living terrariums
complete with native flora and fauna, a
bird feeding station, insect and butterfly
displays, and much more. This facility
is available for environmental programs,
classes and activities. For more information
please contact the Natural Lands Program
at (407) 349-0959.

Visit the Kid's Corner for lots of fun facts, cool
stuff, coloring pages, and more!
Demonstrations available on wildlife, land management, conservation and endangered
species. Natural Lands staff can bring slides, live specimens, skulls,
maps, and other related visual aides to give students a hands-on experience
as they learn about this important County program.

Classes are invited to join Natural Lands
staff at any of the 7 sites currently managed
by Seminole County. Students can observe firsthand
the activities that staff perform to conserve
these natural areas and the wildlife that inhabits
them. See Wilderness Areas for details on where our properties are located.
