Seminole County Government imaging application
allows paper documents to be scanned and stored in an electronic format. Documents that are indexed and stored in an document management system reduces the cost of storage, are easily accessible by many users at once, can be integrated into other applications and backed up for disaster recovery.

Goals
  • Develop and implement a program for the management of documents.
  • Integrate other electronic applications with imaging.
  • Incorporate electronic record objectives, responsibilities and rules.
  • Establish procedures for record management requirements, and disposition before approving new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
  • Provide training to users in operation, care and handling of the equipment, software and media of the imaging system.
  • Provide imaging application support for departments.
  • Maintenance and backup of imaging system.
  • Reduce the cost of on-site and off-site storage of documents.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of imaging system.
  • Provide easy and accurate retrievals in a timely fashion.
  • Provide security to ensure integrity of documents.
