When you login, you can submit an online job application with stored information from your personal profile, education, work history, and up to five separately stored resumes. The login account will need to send email to one of your personal email accounts in order to confirm your email address. Any personal email addresses collected by Seminole County will be regarded as a public record and would be released in the event of a Public Records request.

What else should I know before I apply?
- Positions cannot be closed prior to closing date without the approval of the Human Resources Director.

Vocational/technical certification by a reputable institution as a Journeyman in the HVAC trade is required. A Florida licensed Mechanical or Air Conditioning Contractors license is preferred. The incumbent will perform highly skilled and highly technical HVAC maintenance and repair tasks on commercial HVAC equipment in adherence with applicable code and industry standards. The incumbent will operate, maintain and repair HVAC equipment including but not limited to air handlers, fan coils, boilers and water heating equipment, chillers, condensers, pneumatic controls, cooling towers, dampers, building automation systems, exhaust fans, ice machines, pumps, VAV boxes, variable speed drives, ductwork and diffusers.

High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years progressively responsible paraprofessional engineering field work involving utility construction. Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, property owners and the general public. Ability to maintain accurate inspection records and make accurate, concise reports. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to make minor engineering computations. Must obtain a minimum of a (C) Distribution and Collection License or (C) Operator License; Water and Sewer. Must be skilled in the use of microcomputers with general knowledge of database management, document preparation and general information management. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.

Master's Degree in Public Administration, Planning or Business Administration and ten (10) years of experience required; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Ability to plan, organize and direct effectively. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with assigned staff, supervisors, elected officials and the general public. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad spectrum of personnel, within the County structure, in other governmental agencies and the general public.
