NEWS RELEASE

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for the Lynwood Water Treatment Plant
Posted on: 6/9/2009
Seminole County, Fla., June 10, 2009-A precautionary boil water advisory was issued Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 10 a.m. During a planned construction project, the contractor exposed an 8” water main to install a line stop. The line stop machine malfunctioned, and the water main needed to be isolated in order to free the equipment. The main was repaired, the distribution system was flushed and we have commenced taking bacteriological samples as a precautionary measure. Water service was interrupted to 21 service connections.
PWS # 3590785-01 Subdivision: Heather Glen Streets: 3501, 505, 509, 510, 514, 517, 518, 522, 526, 530, 534, 538, 541, 542, 546, 550, 558, 553, 557, 561, & 562 Heather Oak Curve District: 3
"Precautionary Boil Water Advisory" door signs were placed on the businesses/residences to inform the customers of this situation and to provide contact information. Larger signs were placed at specific intersections within the service area. Therefore, as a precaution, we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
This "Precautionary Boil Water Notice" will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. If you have any questions, you may contact the Seminole County Environmental Services Department at 407.665.2110 between the hours of 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or call 407.665.2767 all other hours. |
