NEWS RELEASE

Ready, Set, Read!
Posted on: 6/5/2009
Seminole County, Fla., June 5, 2009-Looking for something constructive for the kids to do this summer? Why not enroll them in the Seminole County Public Library’s 2009 Summer Reading Program? It begins Saturday, June 6 and runs through Monday, August 10. Children and teens will need to sign up for this free program.
So what’s the program all about? The Summer Reading Program aims to get children and teens to read over the summer. Be Creative @ Your Library is the children’s program, and Express Yourself @ Your Library is the teen’s program. Those who sign up will read for at least 20 days and mark what they’ve read on a log, which is provided by the library. Next they’ll take their reading log back to any Seminole County Public Library and receive a free paperback award book from the Friends of the Library as well as a winner’s certificate. In addition, the Be Creative @ Your Library program features puppet shows, magicians, dog tricks and more.
The Summer Reading Program is part of a larger effort with other states across the nation to work together to provide high-quality summer reading program materials for children. Sign up for the 2009 Summer Reading Program, and let your imagination take you on a trip.
