Administrative Services
Divisions: Fleet & Facilities Management - Purchasing & Contracts - Support
Services
The Administrative Services Department provides
operational support and oversees the internal
functions of the County to "Keep the County
Running." Administrative Services
includes a number of functions including property
management, graphics, the copy center, facilities
maintenance and construction, fleet maintenance,
purchasing, contracts, and risk management.
Board of County Commissioners
Seminole County is served by a five-member
Board of County Commissioners, elected by the
voters at large to represent the County's five
districts. The Board is the Legislative Branch
of County Government and is charged with governing
the jurisdiction of Seminole County per applicable
Florida Statutes. The Board takes official action
through creation of policies, ordinances, and
resolutions at advertised public hearings and
public meetings, and conducts worksessions as
needed to discuss matters of general importance
to the County.

The Community Information department is committed
to planning, strategizing, and executing the delivery
of information to the citizens through new releases,
the media, communications policies, branding, intergovernmental
events, research, television programs, brochures,
and other communication tools.

Service - Juvenile Diversion Services - Probation
The Community Services department has a hand
in the judicial system with County Probation
and Juvenile Diversion activities.
It also has a hand in the social services area
with Community Assistance and Veterans'
Services functions, as well as being the County
liaison to the state-run Health Dept. Homeownership
Assistance is also available with the Community
Development division.
County Attorney's Office
This department's primary function is to provide
quality legal services to the County Government.
County Manager's Office
The County Manager facilitates the implementation
and compliance of all Board of County Commissioners'
policies and maintains professional relations
with County Constitutional Officers along with
state, local, and federal organizations. The County
Manager also serves as Budget Officer and directs
the preparation and administration of the County's
annual budget.
Economic Development

Development
This department working through key partnerships
provides support to small business development
activities, promotes customized job training,
increases international development opportunities,
and continues to work to attract, retain, and
assist targeted business sectors within the County.
Tourism development is actively involved in promoting
the County, nationally and internationally.

Environmental Services includes the water and
sewer business operation with approximately 30,000
customers, and the Solid waste division, which
provides oversight of garbage collection services
and manages the County landfill and transfer station.

Budget Programs: MSBU
This department is dedicated to the mission of
providing sound financial management with the
highest degree of financial integrity and accountability. The MSBU Program administers the non-ad valorem assessment levied for various local improvements within the unincorporated boundaries of Seminole County. An assessment district as established in Seminole County is commonly referred to as an MSBU (Municipal Service Benefit Unit). Through the MSBU Program, non-ad valorem assessments are levied by the Board of County Commissioners.
Human Resources
Human Resource strives to initiative and facilitate
strategies for building a workforce that supports
and enhances organizational objectives. This department
handles such functions as recruitment, training,
wellness programs, and labor relations.
Information Technology Services (ITS)

This department includes our radio and telephone
communications, computer hardware & software,
web site development, Geographic Information Services, and computer leasing.
Leisure Services

This department includes the Museum of Seminole County History, Parks and Recreation,
which operates 23 park locations around the County and the Natural Lands program which maintains several wilderness areas.

This department includes the Seminole County Public Library System with 5 branch libraries.
