SERVICE CHANGE EFFECTIVE DATE INFORMATION:
The effective date of a service option change request is dependent upon whether the change is an upgrade or "downgrade" in service level. An upgrade is defined as a a service change that yields an increase in the assessment amount; a downgrade yields a decrease in the assessment amount.
"UPGRADE" change requests may be made at any time during the year. Upgrades processed independent of the property tax bill may include a prorated upgrade charge based on the effective date and the time remaining in the service year. The upgrade charge is billed directly to property owner.
"DOWNGRADE" change requests change requests received AFTER September 1, 2011 AND THROUGH September 1, 2012 will be included on the 2012 tax bill, and will be effective January 1, 2013.
"DOWNGRADE" change requests received AFTER September 1, 2012 will be included on the 2013 tax bill, and will be effective January 1, 2014.
Please Note: When Downgrading from (2) household garbage collection days per week (Option 1 or 2) to
(1) household garbage collection day per week (Option 3 or 4), the collection day will be the later day of the week.
For example, if household garbage collection for your street is scheduled as Tuesday and Friday, then Friday is the collection day for once a week collection.
