MSBU Program Overview

The Municipal Service Benefit Unit [MSBU] Program provides property owners in unincorporated areas of Seminole County with an opportunity to acquire essential public health and safety improvements or services for their communities. The MSBU Program offers consideration for four types of community improvements and services.

(1)
|
Aquatic Weed Control: Includes aquatic weed control services, lake restoration and re-contouring improvements for retention ponds.
|
|
(2)
|
Construction: Includes road paving, drainage, sidewalks, water service, sewage service, and wall reconstruction.
|
|
(3)
|
Solid Waste: Includes collection and disposal of household garbage, recycling & yard waste and access to County disposal facilities.
|
|
(4)
|
Street Lighting: Includes residential street lighting fixtures, poles and utilities
|
|
Establishment of an MSBU will be considered if the following criteria are met:

(1)
|
Benefiting property is located in unincorporated Seminole County |
|
(2)
|
Property upon which the improvement is to be made is publicly owned (or subject to qualifying easements) |
|
(3)
|
Two or more parcels benefit from the improvement or service |
|
(4)
|
MSBU Program Guidelines and Procedures are satisfied |
