4-H Youth Development

Clover PNG

"4-H is a jewel under the sand waiting for someone to discover it!
It builds the skills we all want to see in our children: leadership, citizenship, health and more!
There is nothing more rewarding than uncovering that jewel. The hunt is over......"

Testimonial from 4-H Parent and Club Leader Bonnie W. , 4-H Hot Peppers Club

"I have been in 4-H for 4 years now, it has showed me more of what I can do. For 3 years, from 2010-2012 I have been in office for my 4-H club. I have learned over the years to be a leader and to help fellow 4-Her's with their projects."

Testimonial from 4-H Youth Member, 4-H Crusaders Club

A MESSAGE TO PARENTS:
We are pleased that your child has enrolled in the Seminole County 4-H Program. We hope that you will be an active partner with your child in this experience. 4-H'ers are more successful and show greater personal development when their parents are also involved in their 4-H experiences. They will need your encouragement and often your help in completing projects, getting to meetings, presenting demonstrations and completing record books.

4-H is the youth program that is offered by the Cooperative Extension Service. We are a three way partnership between the federal, state and local governments: on the Federal level through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, on the State level, in Florida we are operated through the land-grant university - the University of Florida and locally through Seminole County Board of County Commissioners.

On a club level your child's 4-H experience will be directed by a club volunteer leader and on a county level by the Seminole County 4-H Coordinators, Shane Michael and Bridgete McKenna. If you have any questions do not hesitate to give the 4-H Office a call and set up an appointment.

This section is designed to give you some basic 4-H information that your child will learn as a 4-H club member. We hope that you will be a partner in your child's "learn by doing" 4-H experiences. 4-H is meant to be a family affair.

Sincerely your Seminole County 4-H Agents,

Bridgete McKenna
