“Disenfranchised” Displays

On November 2nd, 1920, African Americans seeking to vote in Ocoee, Florida were confronted by a white mob seeking to deny them this right, which escalated into the Ocoee Massacre claiming between 10 and 35 lives. Panels for each of these events will be displayed in our Caretaker’s Residence area of the Museum on the dates given below. Please take a moment with us to remember and reflect on this history.
