Fast Facts

Logo
1
Seminole County is actively working towards reducing potable water consumption in the Northwest Service area.
2
This effort will be achieved through conservation measures which include providing reclaimed water (instead of potable water) for irrigating lawns in neighborhoods with high water use.
3
Phase 1 of the Residential Reclaimed Retrofit Program will construct reclaimed water pipes to residents of Bristol Park, Chestnut Hill, East Camden, Heathrow Woods and Magnolia Plantation.

Phase 2 of the Residential Reclaimed Retrofit Program will construct reclaimed water pipes to residents of Alaqua Lakes.

4
Construction of Phase 1 is complete and there are currently 50 % of the residents connected to the new reclaim system.  Phase 2 is in the final design phase and will be begin construction by late Fall 2008.
5
When completed, Phase 1 and 2 of the Residential Reclaimed Retrofit Program is expected to save approximately 1,000,000 gallons of potable water per day, enough to fill 67 swimming pools a day.
6
Special care will be taken in the design and construction process to minimize impacts to trees, driveways, mailboxes and other structures within the limits of construction. Significance is also given to minimize inconvenience to residents.
