Sharps Program
Seminole County offers a Sharps Program that provides a safe, easy and free method for residents to dispose of hypodermic needles and lancets. Residents can pick up a container, return it when full and get a new container.
Find a location near you
Here's How It Works
- Never dispose of sharps in your garbage or curbside recycling bins.
- Sharps Containers must be returned to one of the designated disposal sites.
- Please do not drop-off Sharps Containers before or after published hours.
- Please use the Sharps Container for needles, syringes, and lancets only.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not return any unsealed Sharps Container. If the lid is defective, request a new lid when you return the container.
- At the disposal site, give your Sharps Container to authorized personnel and never leave it unattended.
- Keep the Sharps Container clean and free from blood.
- No other biomedical waste or red-bag waste will be accepted at these sites.
- Only County issued Sharps Containers are accepted at these sites.
- Please do not over-fill the Sharps Containers.
- Visit one of the disposal sites during the hours specified:
