Statistics

In 1986 to service 9,000 customers, we employed four clerks and one supervisor. Today, we employ 7 clerks and one supervisor to serve 33,500 customers.

The billing office handles over one million transactions every year.

During the fiscal year 1997/98 we billed 5.4 billion gallons of water and 339 million gallons of reclaimed water. This office answers in excess of 5,000 telephone calls per month, over 800 new/final customers, 2000 work orders are produced, and more than 1000 walk-in customers every month.

The Meter Reading Division reads every meter, follow and maintain all meters and set all new residential meters.

One-stop permitting, with the Building Department, has improved time and service in the areas of connection fees and meter sets. The turn around time for setting an irrigation meter has improved from 8 weeks to only 2 weeks. For the fiscal year, 10/1/00 through 9/30/01, 1376 new meters have been set.

During 2000-2001, our six meter readers read approximately 402,000 meters, completed 24,000 work orders, welcomed 2,500 new customers, terminated and reconnected 2,000 customers for non-payment, and drove approximately 15,000 miles.

Our two mechanics installed 978 developer sets, 37 new single service connections and 361 irrigation meters during the 2000-2001 fiscal year.
