Is there a fine for tampering with meters or hydrants?
 
The Answer:
Yes, it is unlawful to obtain water illegally or to tamper with a utility’s meter. In accordance with Florida Statute 812.14, willful violation results in a charge punishable with a fine of up to $1,000, or an amount equal to three times the amount of services unlawfully obtained, whichever is greater.
