Frequently Asked Questions

METERS
The Question:
How do you read my water meter when it is under dirt, mud, water, full of ants, or all fogged up?

The Answer:

  1. When the meter is under dirt, we use our hands or tools to clear it for reading.
  2. The excess dirt removed from the meter box may be broadcast in the year.
  3. Meter readers carry bug sprays and other tools of the trade.
  4. When the meter is fogged, sometimes lightly tapping the lens clears condensation.
  5. When the meter is continually fogged, or under a lot of mud or water, a work order may be issued to raise the meter or replace it.
