The Seminole County Department of Public Safety Animals Services Division is charged with the responsibility of enforcing Seminole County Code, Chapter 20 "Animals and Fowl". In addition to code enforcement, the Animal Services Division is also responsible for the capture, confinement and care of nuisance and stray animals, the sale and issuance of Seminole County Pet Licenses and Commercial Kennel Licenses, the investigation of animal cruelty/nuisance complaints and animal bite investigations, the enforcement of the Rabies Control Program and administration of the animal sterilization Public Rebate Program. The Animal Services Division also presents animals for adoption and participates in a variety of public education and service opportunities.

In addition to the 4-person management team, the Division
maintains a staff of 27 personnel, including 9 Animal Services
Officers, 3 Dispatchers, 3 Veterinary Technicians, 6 Shelter
Attendants, 1 Education/Volunteer Coordinator, 1 Administrative
Assistant and a clerical staff of 4 Customer Service
Representatives.
The Animal Services Divisions animal shelter is
located at 232 Bush Blvd. in Sanford, Florida at the Seminole County Five Points Operations Center. Bush Blvd. comes directly off of US HWY 17-92 in Sanford across the street from Flea World.
