Communications Training

Communication Center personnel receive the latest in initial training and continuing education topics such as, Incident Command Management, critical unit management, Emergency Medical Dispatch and many others to prepare each operator to handle any emergency call. A special thanks to the companies listed below for assisting us with maintaining our educational programs and support capabilities.

Professional Pride Training Company, provides the latest in floor ready console training. For the optimum in realism, we use the STARZ simulation device to provide critical multi-tasking training with the telephone, radio, Telephone Device for the Deaf, C.A.D. and for our other agencies, EZ CAD is available.

A.P.C.O. , provides the required certification for individuals that work as, Communication Training Officers and Center Supervisors. The Fire Communication class was recently added for all new hires to attend as part of the training requirements for Public Safety 911 Professionals.

Priority Dispatch Systems, provides training and National certification for Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), for the Public Safety Communication Center. This is when every medical call is interrogated and prioritized, in order to provide the appropriate medical or life saving instructions to the caller. They are also responsible for providing the training platform, Emergency Telecommunicator Course (ETC) for entry level Telecommunicator, which is the minimum requirement for individuals working in any Seminole County 9-1-1 Center.
