2017 Summer Adventure Eco Camp!  
Summer is almost here!  If you are looking for a fun, safe place for your child to go over the summer break, join us at Summer Adventure Eco Camp!!! Our camp is filled with fun and learning about the Natural World!

Your children will have fun fishing, hiking, setting traps, learning about the animals in the Nature Center, playing games, art & crafts, and MORE!!!  Call 407-665-2211 for more information.

Nature Adventure Birthday Parties! Birthday Balloons3

Create a birthday party experience your child will never forget!  A trained staff member will welcome your party guests, present and exciting program with live animals, and take the group on a hike on our 180 acre property.  You will have time in the center for exploration and to enjoy your refreshments.  Parties are held at in the Ed Yarborough Nature Center in the Geneva Wilderness Area just minutes from Sanford and Lake Mary.  Call 407.665.2211 for availability and cost.

 

Guided Hikes

Our guided hikes are scheduled at some of our most beautiful wilderness areas. Themes include topics such as frogs, owls, insects, and nighttime adaptations. $3 per person. Must register and pay in advance, space is limited. Must be 7 years old or older. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
You may register at any of our active parks (Red Bug Lake Park, Sanlando Park or Sylvan Lake Park).

Hike Schedule

We also offer private hikes, at a charge of $3 per person, to groups of 15 to 25. Please call 407.665.2211 for more information.

School Field Trips

Geneva Wilderness Area and the Ed Yarborough Nature Center can serve as wonderful outdoor classrooms and provide a great opportunity for hands-on learning. Students can explore this property with Natural Lands staff and learn about the environment around them.

The typical education program consists of a program in the nature center and discovery time in the Nature Center, a nature-based activity based on your school curriculum, and a guided hike through the Geneva Wilderness Area.

Cost: $5 per student (minimum 15 students. Teachers & Chaperones are free)

Snake

In School Program

The Natural Lands staff provide a presentation, live animals, skulls, maps and other related visual aides to give students a "nature" experience in the classroom.

Cost: FREE

Number of Students: Minimum of 20 students, Maximum of 120 students. Groups larger than 120 will be split into multiple class periods within the same day. There is no charge for this program. Small groups will have a more hands-on experience. In cases of large groups, teachers can choose a small group of students to join us up front to participate in the hands-on portion of the show.

Number of Programs: Up to 3 shows in one day within a 3-hour period.

Star Gazing!

When: February 4th
Time: 6:00pm to 10:00pm
Cost: $5 per person

Join Natual Lands, the staff of the Emil Buehler Planetarium at Seminole State College and members of hte Central Florida Astronomical Society fo ran evening exploring the wonders of hte night sky.  Program includes guided constellation laser tours of the sky and peering through large telescopes at many of the skies best celestial objects.  Children must be at least 9 years of age and accompanied by an adult

Family Fun Campout!

When: March 4th - 5th
Time: 2:00pm Saturday to 9:00am Sunday
Cost: $5 per person/$20 per family max

Learn to camp in a fun, family-oriented event.  Meals included!  We will have tent pitching assistance, cast iron cooking, nature hike, wildlife chat, cook s'mores over a campfire and much more!!!  Limited to 35 participants.  Families must have a child 13 or younger to participateOne tent per family.  Pre-registration is required.  Register at any active park (Red Bug Lake Park, Sanlando Park, Sylvan Lake Park)  Call 407.665-2211 for more information.

 

Who's Watching Whoo? Owl Class

Join us for a journey into the world of owls. learn about these amazing creatures, dissect an owl pellet and go on a hike to see if you can find some of these unique animals. Open to ages 7 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Parent/Child Eco Crafts!

When: April 29, 2017

Join us for a parent/child nature craft time!  We will begin the morning with a hike.  From the items you collect on the hike we will return to the pavilion and create a one of a kind nature mobile.  You will also make a Nature Tic-Tac-Toe Board!  Class is limited to 20 participants so register NOW!.

Learn to attract birds to your yard, about birdwatching tools, bird identification techniques, and practice identification session with audio and visual aids.
