NOTE: When using Windows or Mac OS, pop-up blockers must be disabled and clearing browser cache is recommended.
Instructions for setting up Internet Explorer Browser:
The Electronic Plan Review Components must be installed on your computer and pop-up blocking disabled PRIOR to using ePlan for drawings and documents to be opened and viewed. Video step by step instructions can be viewed in its entirety or by individual steps listed below.
Step 1: Configure Pop-up Blocker: ProjectDox EPlan uses pop-up windows. If you have a pop-up blocker enabled (enabled by default on Internet Explorer), you will have to disable the blocker for the ePlan Review site.
Step 2: Add ProjectDox as a Trusted Site: To add ProjectDox Eplan as a trusted site, in Internet Explorer
Step 3: Windows users must disable User Account Control:
User Account Control (UAC) must be turned off PRIOR to installing the ePlan Review Components. Disabling of the UAC control should be discussed with your network administrator prior to making changes to your system, if applicable. To turn off UAC in Windows 8 & 10
Step 4: Install the components:
Click the “Install ProjectDox Components” link at the bottom of the login screen. If the user’s network requires administrative access to download the component, the user will need to contact their network administrator to get access to download these controls.
After the components are installed, log into ePlan and allow new ActiveX components to be installed as prompted (additional prompts may appear at other points besides the ePlan login, for example when uploading or viewing a file). When viewing a drawing or document for the first time on your computer, you may be prompted with an information bar similar to the message below. Click on the bar and choose to allow the add-on to run on all sites.

Step 5: Remove Compatibility mode:
ProjectDox (Eplan) sites no longer need to run in Compatibility Mode when using Internet Explorer browsers. To ensure that the ProjectDox (Eplan) site you are accessing is not running in Compatibility Mode, open up Internet Explorer browser. Select from the Tools Menu, Compatibility View Settings, look for the ProjectDox site address in the list of sites in the section that says “Websites you’ve added to Compatibility View”. If you find the ProjectDox (Eplan) site in the list, select it and then click on the “Remove” button. Click “Close” after you have removed the site from the list.
Step 6: Clear Browser Cache:
Users are encouraged to clear the Temporary Cache folders for their browsers as there are many changes made recently to ProjectDox. Please see your browser’s Help files for instructions on clearing the Temporary Cache folder.
Step 7: Re-Enabling the UAC:
User Account Control may be turned back on after ePlan has been successfully run and allowed to install ProjDox (EPlan) components. A reboot will be required for the change to take effect.
