Strategic Plan

Strategic planning is critical to the success of any operation. Change is occurring at an unprecedented pace. Leaders of emergency management must be looking ahead, anticipating change, and developing a strategy to successfully navigate through the turbulence created by change.

From a macro perspective, the emergency management profession continues to change with global threats of terrorism, increase threats of natural disasters, enhanced media presence, and finally a decrease in funding availability.

At a micro view, the level of any agency, strategic planning provides the organization with purpose and direction. A good strategy will balance funding and productivity initiatives.
