SCPS Current Facts

SCPS is the 13th largest school district in Florida and the 55th largest in the nation for the 2020-2021 school year. Student enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year was more than 66,729.

SCPS is a leader in education throughout Central Florida and the State and is widely recognized as a Premier National School District. 

It boasts 37 traditional Elementary Schools, 12 Middle Schools, and 9 High Schools. 

The average experience of a SCPS teacher is 12.57 years and 45.39% of SCPS Teachers have advanced degrees.

Magnet & Choice Schools: 

Magnet and Choice schools offer themed learning environments such as math, science, technology, communication or the arts. SCPS operates:

  • Six (6) Elementary School Magnets

  • Five (5) High School Magnets

    • That's 5.7% above the State Average of 87.3%

  • SCPS 2021 High School SAT scores exceeded the state average for the 44th consecutive year

  • The graduating class of 2021 earned more than $48 million in Scholarships

  • 15,110 AP Exams were given during the 2020-2021 school year with a 59.8% pass rate. State average pass rate is 46%

  • SCPS ranked #1 in the State in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math)

  • SCPS is one of the top districts in the State in Calculus & Physics enrollment
