The Veterans’ Services Office has trained service officers who are certified by the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs to assist veterans, dependents, survivors, and others. The service officers and staff members strive to educate the public about veterans’ benefits and serve as the veterans’ advocate when filing a valid claim with the US Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) through the following means:

In an effort to better communicate with our veterans, Seminole County is offering periodic informational bulletins that will be distributed via email. You may also visit the Make the Connection website at http://maketheconnection.net/ where Veterans, their family members and friends, and other advocates can find mental health information, connect with local resources, and read inspiring stories of recovery. Visitors to the site can find reliable information on how to cope with challenges such as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury, military sexual trauma, and transitioning from service. The site is free and accessible to everyone.
