First-time Homebuyer Programs - Approved Lenders List
The following programs help eligible participants purchase their first home.
Purchase Assistance
Purchase Assistance is available for very-low, low, and moderate income first-time home buyers. Applications are accepted on Tuesdays and Thursdays only, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Applications will be accepted based on funding availability and can close without further notice. SHIP funds are made available on a first come, first complete, first served basis while funding is available.
Current Homeowner Programs
The following program helps eligible participants who currently own their home.
Homeowner Rehabilitation
This program provides qualified very low and low income homeowners in need of assistance with repairs and/or alterations to improve their health, safety, and well being or contribute to structural integrity and preservation of their owner occupied home. This program is currently closed and is not accepting applications.
Rental Programs
Households in danger of becoming homeless or are currently homeless.
Rental Security and Utility Deposits
This program is in the form of a grant for households in danger of becoming homeless or are currently homeless as a result of the inability to pay security and/or utility deposits when seeking rental housing in Seminole County. Applications will be accepted starting Tuesday, January 10, 2012. See flyer for additional information including income limits. Flyer and application.

HUD Approved Counselors
Provides classes required to obtain First Time Homebuyers/Pre-Purchase Certificates. In addition, HUD counselors are trained in foreclosure avoidance.
Veterans Affairs Foreclosure Prevention
This link provides guidance in foreclosure prevention for those veterans with or without a Veterans Affairs home loan mortgage.
