Community Services Block Grant ARRA (CSBG-R) Training Program
The Community Services Block Grant ARRA (CSBG-R) Training will provide financial assistance to income eligible individuals for training program tuition, books and the training supplies. Assistance will be provided to individuals that need training in order to attain employment, maintain employment or to increase employment income and/or benefits.
A maximum of up to $5,000 in financial assistance is available per eligible applicant for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 2010, pending funding availability. The financial assistance can be provided for tuition, books and training supplies. The maximum approval amount for programs/specialization training assistance will be in accordance with Workforce Central Florida Approved Training Program Cap amount.

Rental Security & Utility Deposit Program
This program is in the form of a grant up to a maximum award of $2,000 for households in danger of becoming homeless or that are currently homeless as a result of the inability to pay security and/or utility deposits when seeking residence in Seminole County rental housing. Monday, February 1, 2010 Seminole County Community Assistance will accept applications for the Rental Security and Utility Deposit program from active applicants and applicants on the waiting list in the Seminole County Community Assistance Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP). Monday, March 1, 2010 applications will be accepted from the general public if funding is still available. Please see the links below for more information.

County Funded Agencies
The county provides funding to non-profits who provide various types of services to address a multitude of unmet needs within our community that may not otherwise be addressed.
CSA
Grant Program
This program is a Board of County Commissioner (BCC) funded initiative for supporting a variety of community service projects. If funds are available, all non-profit agencies serving Seminole County residents are eligible and may apply for funds through this program. The Division of Community Assistance provides training, support, & oversight for all contracted agencies.
County Received Grants
The division is the recipient of several grants which are formalized through contracts and which are monitored annually for compliance.
Emergency Financial Assistance
These are Board of County Commission (BCC) general revenue funds that provide limited financial assistance to eligible Seminole County residents confronting a financial hardship.
Substance Abuse
The Division provides a variety of services to Seminole County that are directed at reducing the incidence and consequence of substance abuse and violence.
Self Sufficiency Program
The Family Self-Sufficiency Program is an achievement program for customers who have an interest in achieving education and employment at the same time, but have not been able to do so due to circumstances beyond their control. Short-term financial assistance with payment of a portion of the rent or mortgage is provided to customers while achieving their goals. The Family Self-Sufficiency Program is not an entitlement, nor is it intended for crisis intervention. Assistance is conditional, month to month, based on the household eligibility for recertification and the availability of funds.
Edward Byrne Grant
The EDWARD BYRNE DRUG CONTROL AND SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT FORMULA GRANT PROGRAM began in 1988, and was first implemented in Seminole County in 1990. The program is a part of the national drug control efforts and provides funding in 26 purpose areas.
Seminole County Social Services Forum
Catholic Charities hosts its bi-monthly, Seminole County Social Services Forum the second Tuesday of the month, at the Church of the Nativity (3255 N. Ronald Reagan Blvd., Longwood) beginning at 12:00 pm. A guest speaker from an agency is assigned to each meeting to update the forum of services available. Network with other social services providers and discuss how to better serve our residents. For more information call 407-658-0999.
