FRESHWATER FISHING LICENSE
Totally and permanently service connected disabled veterans may fish without obtaining a fishing license, or a fishing permit for fishing on recreational lands. Each person, while fishing, shall possess documentation of this condition of total and permanent disability. F.S. 372.57
EXEMPTION OF HOMESTEAD TAXES
The veteran must be a permanent resident of the State on January 1st of the tax year for which the following homestead exemptions are claimed.
Veterans who are service connected 100% permanently and totally disabled, are exempt. F.S. 196.081
Veterans who qualify as quadriplegics, paraplegics, hemiplegics or permanently and totally disabled, who must use a wheelchair for mobility, or who are legally blind, are exempt from taxation if gross annual household income does not exceed $12,000. F.S. 196.101
Veterans with a service-connected disability to
a degree of 10% or more in war service, shall be
entitled to a $5,000 property tax exemption. F.S.
196.24
IDENTIFICATION CARD
A card will be issued upon request to a veteran who is a permanent resident of the State and who is determined by the VA to have a 100% service connected disability rating. F.S. 295.17
CERTIFICATE OF DISCHARGE OR SEPARATION
The Clerk of the Circuit Court shall record without cost to the veteran certificates of discharge or separation from the Armed Forces of the United States. F.S. 28.222
MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE PLATE (DV)
A motor vehicle license plate* will be issued for use on a motor vehicle owned by a disabled veteran who has been a continuous resident of Florida for the last five years or has filed a domicile declaration upon application accompanied by proof that:
The vehicle was acquired through financial assistance from the VA, or
The veteran has been determined by the VA to have a service connected 100% disability rating for compensation, or
The veteran has been determined to have a service connected disability of 100% and is in receipt of disability retirement pay from any branch of the uniformed armed forces. F.S. 320.084
MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE PLATE (POW)
A motor vehicle license plate* will be issued to a Florida resident who was a U.S. citizen and member of the Armed Forces who was held as a prisoner of war at a time the Armed Forces were engaged in combat. F.S. 320.089
